Supermarket chic

I make NO secret of the fact that I love supermarket clothes. If you look hard and search well you can find some amazing pieces. I have the best denim shirt ever, great khaki combat trousers and a cute little knit with bow back detail.

When Sainsbury's have 25% off all their clothes I always go, I always find something and I'm always happy. Not only do they offer 25% off all clothes and accessories but they offer the discount off ALL sale items too!

ABSOLUTELY gutted that their shoes don't fit me as there were some amazing shoes in the sale. My friend bought 3 pairs of heels for less than £20 for all 3! I am usually a 7 but their 7's are too big and the 6's way too small -sigh.

Here's my latest haul from the other day.

Scarf - was £10 down to £5 and then 25% off making it a bargain at £3.75- what a result!

I call this the ice cream scarf, it's so soft, quite big (would make a nice pashmina/wrap on a cool summer evening, or wear as a good scarf for neck warmth on a COLD Spring/Summer day! Was £6 with the discount

Just a belt, but one that will go well with my white skinnies - £6 after discount

Been after one of these for a long time, missed out on one from local boutique (it shut down!) and was too tight to pay for one from Joules (pic of me in in it here) so this one was to be had - £13.75 after discount!

I cannot wait for Sainsbury's to put their TU range online so everyone can grab a bargain too!

You know that buying clothes in a supermarket doesn't actually count as clothes shopping? That's what I tell the husband anyway, works for me!

  1. Hi there! Saw this dress last week and loved it, but it seemed very long on me which was a shame as it's a fabulous buy!!

    1. It is for tall people (hoorah, this never happens to me!) - I'm 5ft 9 and it's a good ankle length on me.

When it goes in the sale (and it will because it won't sell that well due to extra long length) I'm going to buy for next year too!

  2. JEALOUS!!! Jealous cos we don't have Sainsburys. Jealous cos you got the Missoni-esque scarf that I love (for pennies!!!!!). Really, really jealous 'cos you have such a gorgeous figure & if I attempted to wear a dress like that I'd have people patting my stomach and asking when I was due. Big sigh ...

    1. Do not be jealous - I have that 'when is it due belly' when I am NOT sucking in for my life. I also wore a scarf to disguise the belly!!!!

  3. Love all your picks Fiona. I don't stand a cat in hells chance with the maxi dress - it's lovely and so nice with a denim jacket. My favourite is the ice cream scarf - I feel a Sainsburys shop coming on .....

    1. The ice cream scarf was hiding at the back of some other rank scarves so it pays to rummage!

Dress is gorgeous but VERY long

    1. Oh yes you'll find the scarves kind of near the milk section!
I know, imagine the horror when I went to buy the dress and they'd gone - all within 24 hrs - gutted

  5. Don't have a Sainsbury's local that sells clothes, such a shame. Love that 'ice cream' scarf and that dress looks amazing on you x

  6. i have never seen this range in any of the sainsburys i go to, it is always huge t shirts in horrible colours with giant orange tags all over them, all pressed together on one tiny rail just by the checkout.
