Amazing F&F Clothing at Tesco

Yesterday I pretended I needed milk (I did not!) so I went to our local massive Tesco store which has a great clothing department. The reason I pretended I needed milk was so that I could buy what I wanted on the card and if the husband asked or looked at the CC bill he'd just see 'TESCO' and not question it (I do this with Sainsbury's too!).

I haven't been to Tesco for a long time (we moved and it's now a 15 min drive away (hardly the other side of world!) and I was in my element looking at their sale stuff and non-sale stuff.

What did I buy?

AMAZING lightweight parka in stone but it has shimmer to it - £15 (was £30)
Still available to buy today
This is so similar to the £139 Mint Velvet one that I fell in love with last month but a fraction of the price.

Gorgeous sandals - I love love love them - £10 (not in the sale)
Available to buy online today

I need some new shorts. The only ones I have are hot pants and at 39 it's just not a good look. I didn't want any that would make me look like I was working on a cruise liner as part of the crew (you know the tailored chino ones) so I squealed with delight at these - they fit like a glove (will be going back to get them in grey and black too - at £8 you can't go wrong really)

My best buy of the day is this amazingly gorgeous yellow tshirt. I can't find it online for you to buy and I'm secretly pleased - it means it's all mine mine mine! It was £12 (expensive for Tesco!) but it's so pretty with the lace capped sleeves and detail to the front.

I love my new £7 (in the sale) 70s look straight leg jeans (pictured with yellow top above). Made from the softest denim ever. GUTTED the magnetic tag is still on them (didn't bleep when I left the store).

I didn't see these in my local store but they are online to buy now and I am going to do JUST that!

A favourite new love of mine (so behind the times with this trend I know) but these are in the sale at just £8 - I didn't see them locally but they are online to buy today (off I rush again!)

So, have you ever shopped in Tesco? I urge you to take a look, the parka and the sandals are amazing and the prices are even better.

If you have tips on how to remove the magnetic tag please let me know!

Fiona
xoxo

  1. Hi Fiona-wow, what a gorgeous sales haul, where to start?? Really love the parka, the lemon tee and the jeans-you scored well with everything! I love those floral jeans, how do F&F sizing seem, I am a 10-12 but the Matalan ones in a 10 were too small. You look lovely in the jeans and lemon tee, such a casual chic look! xxx

    1. I *think* by memory Tesco are true to size with jeans. You could order the 10 and the 12 as they have free deliver to store/return to store for free too.

I can't wait for the weather to heat up so I can wear it!

  7. I'm even less keen on supermarkets than I am on the high street, but I can't deny your haul is pretty damn good, I like all of it, I really like it, not because it is cheap, because it looks great!

    1. I think the trick with bargains is to pick well and wear them with other more expensive stuff - so I love wearing my Cartier watch with my £5 top!

  8. Hi Fiona
I really love your blog, we all love designer labels but who can deny the thrill of a bargain! It looks great on you and as the previous comment not because its cheap. Very well picked items, good taste, good fashion sense and a very enjoyable read. Yours is one of the blogs I always read first, thanks for th great honest fashion tips and advise.

  9. Oooh - how excited and happy are you? And did you manage to sneak it all in as part of the shop? I think my hubs has wised up, he asked for the shopping receipts recently so I've had to put a stop on the sneaky stuff. Pah. Best thing is when I pretend I'm shopping for him and manage to sneak something for me too as if it's okay because he's getting something so I should as well. The yellow top looks lovely on you - good buy!

    1. I wish the yellow top was online for others to buy - it really is so very Zara/Mango but at Tesco prices - love that!
Oh no, what if the husband does that to me 'can I see the receipt please' - will have to hide them from now!

    2. Don't want to be a party pooper but I have been following your blog and that of your fellow fashionistas ( the ones that often comment on your blog), on a regular base lately, and as much as I enjoy them, I have been wondering also, if you ever pause and wonder, where and how all the bargain clothes you so gush about have been produced.
I realize that also higher end chains have their garments produced in sweatshops but since you all seem to be having a regular audience, why don't you and your friends use your voice and influence every once in a while to make people pause and think about this, putting some question marks at how ethical a company is, or if there is at least an effort made to improve working conditions in these low cost labour countries. If we would all do this, instead of only gushing about what a bargain can be had, maybe, very slowly, we would go towards a slightly better world.

  11. Lovely haul. Just take the jeans back to Tesco with the receipt and they will remove the tag. H&M are dreadful at leaving tags on but never a problem when I go back.

  16. Loved this post too - wow...that parka is FAB! BTW, you can cut those security tags off...or bend them till they break. We get them sometimes in the charity shop - promise it's not a skill I learned from years of shoplifting!! Probably too late - you've been back and had it taken off..but just for future reference :)
