I've been a BIG FAN of ASOS for over a decade now - starting out as a smaller online retailer selling clothes that matched those of the stars (you know ASOS stands for As Seen On Screen right?). And I've loved Primark for a very long time. I do hope that ASOS continue with their free delivery and returns policy because I've found that with Primark clothes you have to pick well - not ALL items are the best of quality but equally there are some tip top gems to be found if you look hard enough and choose well.
The sun is still shining and I'm continuing on with my no repeat days - it's easy in the begining but I am wearing things I wouldn't normally reach for. I figure if I go for non comfort items now by the time I end the challenge I'll be able to quickly grab my fail safe outfits without thought.
I played around with this top in, out, belt, shoes, bag etc - here are the results.
The top has a really pretty back to it
Phase Eight - 2 years ago
White pencil skirt - H&M 2 years ago
Green shoes - Faith - 10 years ago (!!!)
Green bag - Esprit - recent but cannot find online
I LOVE the pink lining
I prefer it tucked in with the green belt to match the bag

You look very pulled together, love the bag, it's like a watermelon.
ReplyDeleteOh that is such a compliment 'pulled together' because I honestly don't feel I ever achieve this!
DeleteYes a watermelon is a perfect description
OMG, that is a seriouly sophisticated look! Wow!! Not sure how I feel about asos and primark joining forces. I've never bought from asos ... and have never been a fan of primark .. shock! horror! Ok, I'll get my coat ...
ReplyDeleteOh wow thank you - I don't do sophisticated so thank you!
DeleteLOL!!! That made me laugh "I've never bought from asos ... and have never been a fan of primark"
What a fabulous outfit, absolutely love it with the belt. Yes, very sophisticated!
ReplyDeletethank you! Such kind comments
DeleteI love a nice white skirt... yours looks great! Mine look dingy and grey, must launder them better ;-) I didn't even know Asos delivered here or had a US site until recently so I haven't tried them, but does this mean we can access Primark over here? Exciting if so! I see the gems on all of you guys and only wish...!
ReplyDeleteNot sure what the deal will be but I imagine free delivery and free returns will be our friend!
DeleteLovely outfit Fiona, love love love your blog, it's honest, interesting to read and always one which I read first.
ReplyDeleteOh what a lovely thing to hear - thank you!
DeleteI am what I am - I can't pretend to be anything other than what I am :-)
Oh I love that top - would be fab with white jeans also, no? Love how you picked out the green in it ... the clutch is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteRegarding Primark/ASOS...I'm sure it's great for people who don't have a Primark near them. I'm lucky in that I have 3 within about a 10 mile radius of the house so I can go in if I want to - though I've not been in for about 6 months in fact. I did a big clear out of clothes a few weeks ago and it was all the cheaper stuff I've bought from there that got dumped first. So it got me thinking about trying to buy better quality stuff that lasts from now on. But I'll still get my skinny jeans and white vests there. Those they do very well and they last - surprisingly! x
I wish I could buy less but buy well - sadly I know this isn't ever going to happen!
DeleteHowever, with my spending ban I won't be spending at all!
I have really just discovered ASOS this year (had no idea what it stood for!). It'll be great if it means I can get Primark stuff here via Asos. I expect it is Primark wanting to utile Asos' expertise online and distribution channels. Looking amazing - love the white skirt!
ReplyDeleteOooh glad to have informed you what it stands for :-)!
DeleteI'm with everyone else here - you look really good in this outfit and the whte skirt is a little unexpected. It's so easy to reach for jeans so the fact that (1) you chose a skirt (2) it's white (3) it's a pencil style instead of floaty maxi is quite a revelation for me.
ReplyDeleteI actually love browsing through ASOS. I know a lot of people get daunted by the choice but like you, I think they have quite a good selection criteria for narrowing down choices and you can't beat the free delivery and returns and the occasional 20% off discounts which they have on branded clothing. As for the collaboration with Primark - I won't be buying via this channel. You need to be in the shop sifting through the good from the bad. I seem to have lost the love for Primark over the last couple of years ... the odd basic is okay but the fashion has been a bit lost on me ... or rather it doesn't appeal ... or maybe I've just changed. Still love it for kids clothes though.
YAY, I love ASOS and am no daunted by it! I love the fact that there is different stuff to the usual high street stores and with time and a good eye you can pick out some gems. Agree their free delivery and returns helps a lot!
DeleteI feel a lot of love for the skirt so I shall wear it again!
I love the skirt/top combo, you could even wear it to a wedding, make a change from a dress. I wasn't bothered by the Primark news, I've only ever bought a clutch bag from there because it was £24 cheaper than one I liked the same in Topshop and Asos is so big now, searching for something has become a chore these days, I'm all for choice but in bite size pieces spread across various sites although it's handy if you can't find your size in something xx
ReplyDeleteQuite a few people have been turned off ASOS recently due to the size of what they offer. I always use the search/selecton filter and do it over a big mug of hot coffee!!
DeleteI don't have a local Primark so to me this is great news!
I hadn't really thought of it for a wedding but you are right - it could be dressed up totally!
Hi!I''ve been searching for the esprit green bag for months! Can you please tell me where i can purchase it or even the model of the bag?Thank you! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Stephanie, it's from Esprit and is a couple of years old now I'm afraid
