Denim Shirt Dress

I'm kicking myself that in Tesco yesterday I didn't buy this shirt dress. I tried it on but was being rushed by being able to hear my two brats children running around outside causing mayhem. I wish I'd bought it and tried it on at home and styled it with my lovely pink high heels/trainers/flip flops. If truth be known I was also being tight! I hate paying full price for things but it was only £20 so I really am kicking myself now. The length was perfect too (too long for some though because at 5ft 9 it sat on me as it does here on the model - proper knee length).

The kicking goes on because today the lovely Carly who posts on the secret Avenue 57 outfit sharing group on Facebook (email if you want to join - fiona@avenue57.com) was wearing hers. I thought it was from Tesco but it's not, it's from George at Asda. I prefer hers because hers has a defined a waist and the Tesco one didn't - it looked like I was 5 years old and I'd borrowed one of my dads shirts! Carly looks fab.

Asda sell them in chambray or dark denim

Shall I go and order the one I left behind in Tesco?

  1. prefer the asda one with that little bit of shaping to it, more flattering.

    1. I prefer that one but unsure of length - I'm 5ft 9 so it's perfect for me!

  2. I picked up the Tesco one the other day but it was so long, I'd have looked like Wee Willy Winky in his nightgown!! The Asda one looks fab though with the defined waist, I may just have to order it ;) x

    1. Being 5ft 9 does have its benefits for once! All others have been far too short on me sadly

  3. I prefer the shape of the Asda one and a choice of colours too, why not order them both and then you can compare them? I have a mango one from last year but I'm tempted by the dark Asda one for Autumn. I love how Carly has styled hers with trainers, I may steal her style over the weekend. Being tall and trying to find a dress this summer has been a nightmare, I'm constantly on the look out for 'The' perfect one - it's not happened yet x

    1. We have the same problem Sue with being tall! The Tesco one was perfect in length but a bit shapeless. Wondering how short the Asda one will be.

  4. I've just got the asda dark denim one. Looks a bit different from the pics and the waist isn't that defined. I love it though and even got 20% discount online (not sure if there is still an online discount but I only ordered it yesterday for collect + collection today) It is short though. Way above the knee on me and I'm only 5'4'' (on a tall day!)
