Another day another disaster

Honestly, I have no idea what is wrong with me at the moment. Over the past month I have ordered/tried on LOTS of clothes from Boden, Tesco, TK Maxx and ASOS and out of EVERYTHING I have tried on (retail total around £1500) I have kept one blue top from Tesco for the grand sum of ....................... £8! I can be seen wearing it here and again today at the end of this post.

WARNING WARNING WARNING - this post is VERY LONG WITH LOTS OF EPIC FAILURE Photo's.

I forgot to blog about the other Tesco stuff and accidentally deleted all the photographs too which is VERY annoying. You've all seen the Boden and TK Maxx shopping failures so today I bring you the ASOS fails.

I love these shoes, they were just about perfect and I THOUGHT my search for cobalt blue shoes had come to an end but .......... they are sandals,  not shoes! I figure the strap would bother me with jeans/trousers and so if I have any doubt these days I just return.

You can see the heel here - gorgeous aren't they but they are sandals not shoes!

Now let's talk about this stunning dress - I LOVED it - think bright lime green and blue - love love love BUT .... without boobs it just gaped and opened at the wrong place. I'm gutted because it's an amazing fit and it even had little pockets which I just love.  It also looks VERY different on me on the top half than on the model on their site - I prefer their look

You can see the naughty flappy gaping bit better here

And closer up here - it's just not something I could live with

This photo makes it look like the top half the dress is wearing me, not the other way round ... oh God, the more I look at these photos the more I'm glad it's not right ... I've gone from love to hate in 45 seconds!

This has the potential to be an amazing dress for a night out. Gorgeous quality and such pretty detail to the top half. Swinging girlie bottom bit, right length (not too short, not too long, flash a bit of thigh etc) and overall a fab dress for £37.50. You know there is a but coming don't you?

It sat all matronly on my none existent boobs .. do you see it? It was so hard to photograph but trust me, I called myself shelf tits after this!

Can you see it better here?

Thin legs are us yes?

 Pretty neck though

And then onto the tartan drop hem dress that I had seen on Frances and Joanna and I wanted so badly.
The pictures speak for themselves. You know what I did - RETURN! Excuse the 7.30am photobomber. Check me out trying clothes on so early!

I see BIG dress and LITTLE pin head - do you?!

I later got a call from Millets, they wanted their tent back

And this was just so boring that it went back in the bag!

Onto what I wore today for a lunch with the girls at the pub. The £8 Tesco top, Gap jeans and TK Maxx nude heels

Jacket from Matalan last summer that I've never worn .. until now!

Do you think I should turn this blog into the real anti fashion blog it's fast becoming?!

Have a good weekend

Fiona

  3. I do love the cobalt sandals. Such a shame as I know you really wanted shoes. The tartan dress is hysterical, man alive!!

  4. I think I like seeing photos of what doesn't work even more than photos of what does, I hope that doesn't make me a bad person?! I tried on some shockers recently, I'll have to start posting them to give everyone a laugh. I bought about 10 tops from Primark too, and returned 6 of them. Sometimes it's not your season!

How bloody annoying about that first dress, you look stunning in it, but weird flappy bit would not do. And those sandals, are just gorgeous, gorgeous. But yes, they are...sandals. Not shoes!

    Keep on trying!

    1. I love epic fails more than the success posts!!!!! It makes us 'real' and human and not everything looks good. I'm man enough to show and tell the rough with the smooth!

    1. Honest always :-)
The jacket annoyed me though - it has a rough bit of fabric all round the inner collar - I was itching and scratching all lunch!

  6. Do you know what, I rather liked the little ditsy flower dress with the black tights....think I would have added a biker jacket to it and a pair of boots and it would look great. Loving the blue shoes though, those ankle straps are amazing.

    1. I liked it - I could have done a lot with it but ............ I already own a few like that that I never do anything with - I need to work with what I have now instead of buying new all time

  7. I do think you should have kept the sandals as they would be great in just a month or two with boyfriend jeans. Love the heel!! The rest were all good calls - it's the downside of online shopping...I hate having to return it all :(
Great outfit today - can't believe you've not worn that jacket since last year?! x

    1. I need to find £50 for the sandals - I can't justify those and the blue shoes I'm still hunting for.
I've never worn the jacket! I just bought it last year!

  8. Oh you have made me laugh if anything here Fiona, I loved that red check Asos dress also and I have it saved in my wish basket - do you think it would work if you sized down maybe 2 or 3 sizes even???

    1. I'm not sure I can downsize .. it's a size 6!

  9. I love your honesty - at least you post the pictures. I usually just quietly take off the offending items and fold neatly and put them back in the bag (yes, I am that anal). And then pull them back out and try them again and fold them up and put them back. And repeat till absolutely certain.

And I agree with Porcelina - I like seeing the rejects more than the successes. Sorry :o) It's only because I'm just as bad.

  11. I honestly have times like this, nothing fits, nothing inspires me, I have a few pennies to spend, it's just not happening. Then normally once I find something it starts the ball rolling and rolling and rolling. Currently I have had that (well since the beginning of the year) and am now trying to be good and not look about. You will come good again, it's a short drought! x

    1. I don't want the ball to start rolling - I am quite enjoying having to have NO self control. I don't need any because everything looks shite!

  13. really made me laugh, it saves checking out the retail website, where everything is pinned and airbrushed to perfection. It's all those little details that go wrong when the retailers are chasing profit and not offering value for money, I guess it is how ZARA just takes over. I have never had a good experience with ASOS, and the disappointment is all the greater and they manage to make their stuff look quite nice in pictures, but I just have to face it that I am too old and need to pay a bit more!

  15. Love this post- think you need to do nothing but fashion fails from now on and show us what not to buy! Love the blue shoes also, they are very like the Zara ones I have that are very comfy because of the block heel. Your last outfit is stunning though, can't believe that top is tesco it's gorgeous!!
