Sainsbury's 25% off

I had to pop to Sainsbury's on Friday to get some bread. You know where this is going don't you?! I bought said bread and also wine as they have a great offer on right now. 25% off if you buy 6 bottles or more and this is ON TOP OF the already discounted by 50% wine I was buying.

Anyway, I took myself off to the clothes section as they have 25% off clothing this weekend. Last time I went armed with good intentions of buying I found nothing. This time I was in luck! So much to choose from.

A quick show and tell of what I tried on:

Navy and white striped tunic £12 - I loved this off the hanger but on it was just a bit 'meh'.
I didn't buy.

Cream cable knit jumper £18 - I need one so was very excited to see this. It was totally boxy and shapeless. I didn't buy.

Floral dress £18 - I thought this dress was so pretty so I was happy to give it a go. I just ended up looking like an over grown adult in a child's dress! I did not buy!

Wool jumper £22 - oh my goodness this is so soft and the sleeves really long which is good for me. I felt like someone in a GAP advert because of the super snuggly softness. It's oversized but works for me (unlike shapeless cable knit above). Definitely keeping this.

Pencil skirt £16 - I adore the vibrant colours and just wanted to try it on. It's stretchy and works a treat. Ignore the leggings and boots by my ankles, I couldn't be bothered to take them off! This one is in my wardrobe now.

Yeti coat £30 - I loved this, it fitted very well but when I got home my best friend said it looked cheap and nasty. I trust her but my gut still says KEEP! I did buy it.

High neck blouse £28 - I loved this, it's a sheer blouse with a vest top included. I hate it when they attach the vest top as when I tried it on it all puckered up, I couldn't get it on, I almost couldn't get it off, I hated how it sat on me as you can see! I did not buy this.

Brown Chelsea boots £40 (leather) - I loved these, they fitted (Sainsbury's shoes and boots NEVER normally fit me) but my friend said they didn't look that good at all. I'm yet to trust her on this one and will try with boyfriend jeans. She said they were too masculine but I like that look sometimes. I asked on the Facebook group and it was a mixed bag of 'keep' and 'return'!

Sainsbury's have a ton of pumps/trainers, shoes and boots that are REALLY good value. Sadly, they didn't fit me - the 6 is too small, the 7 is too big.

So do I keep or return the boots and the yeti coat? I still can't decide.

Fiona

  1. Oh, I absolutely adore the Gap-esque jumper. That's just gorgeous. I'd say no to the Yeti coat, as I can imagine it may look cheap in reality. But £40 for leather boots? I'd definitely keep them!

    1. I'm trying to be really good so I think the coat can go back. I have a grey cashmere gorgeous cardigan that fills this gap. Boots I will aim to style in a different way but if I can't make them work then they're going back too!

    1. I think I might! It was all so cheap really (but made an expensive 2 pint carton of milk)!

    1. The coat is going back, I don't think I'll wear it often enough. Jumper keeping and boots still undecided!

  4. Hi Fiona - love the woollen jumper on you, looks lovely. The boots are fab, so if they are reasonably well made and comfortable I'd definitely keep! As for the coat, will have to agree with your friend I'm afraid - sorry!

  5. Love the boots, keep them! Also love the blouse face! The coat reminds me of my raving days I'm afraid - once you've seen a yeti coat worn with a bikini and moon boots it's hard to take it seriously. Sorry :-)

  6. Return the yeti, keep the boots! Reckon you will get a ton of wear from them and will look better once broken in x

  7. A yes to the boots, they look way more expensive than £40. Please keep them. You made some great purchases Fiona - shame about the grey blouse as the style really suits you x
