I have just done a quick search on capes (not ponchos) and they all seem to be navy - why is that?
Here is my round up of capes that I found (in no particular order).
I appreciate the brown one from Gap is not actually a cape but it's lovely don't you think?
Here's a round of my outfits over the past couple of days. My sister flew in with her friend from LA and we have been/done:
Friday
Stonehenge
Salisbury
The Pig (stopped for a cup of tea but somehow managed to sink a bottle of delicious red!)
Dinner out (not even going to talk about how crap it was)
Saturday
Lunch at The Boathouse in Christchurch
Sunday
Coffee at Cafe Shore in Sandbanks
Lunch at The Cliff in Sandbanks for my father's 70th birthday
Check out my funky mum with her gilet over her leather jacket, skinny jeans and knee high boots!
And that my friends is how I rolled this weekend - was amazing. If you are ever in The New Forest, you HAVE TO go to The Pig - it's amazing

OOOH I have one of them! I have a black one from Reiss about a gazillion years ago. Main issue is that you can't raise your arms higher than your waist. Closing the boot is hard. But I had forgotten about it and it's perfect for over a night out dress. Thank you for the inspiration! xxx
ReplyDeleteI hadn't even considered the impracticality of the cape! That's hilarious! I'll look like a pterodactyl.
DeleteAw - thank you for the mention lovely...I'm a big fan of mine I have to say and managed a whole day in it last week without taking off. I ADORE that patterned top you're wearing in your second photo...wasn't it a USA purchase? It's gorgeous - really lovely on you xx
ReplyDeleteIt was a USA purchase from Target yes - $25 - bargain and it's beautiful on - a real dress up dress down top. I found it online just in case any US friends like it

Gosh you have been busy but it sounds like a great week. Your mum looks super cool! xx
ReplyDeleteI love my mum! When she gets it right she gets it right!
DeleteLove the Gap cape, such a fab colour, the knit looks gorgeous too!
ReplyDeleteI had a fab vintage black cape with a fur colour.......it was awesome! Now kicking myself as I eBayed it, although if I remember rightly it wasn't terribly practical, 'twas a bit draughty! Lol x
I REALLY want the Gap jumper/cape/poncho - it's all 3 in 1!
DeleteI'm wanting a cape too but not sure how it would look with a bump, I many just look like a big circle with all the material up top. Need a trip to shops I think! You've had a busy time recently, u must be exhausted!! X
ReplyDeleteYou need a poncho - doing my round up of those tomorrow!!!!
DeleteMy pregnant friend looks AMAZING in her poncho
Nope ... sorry! A cape is not for me ... I think I had one as a child. Clearly scarred me for life. But sounds like you had a fabulous weekend x
ReplyDeleteI had one as a child too - my mum made me and my sister matching ones! Once in a lifetime is definitely enough! Now off to check out The Pig - it's almost on my doorstep ;-)
ReplyDeleteThe Pig is TOTALLY worth it - it's the best place on this earth
DeleteI've just tried a cape in Gap and it's not for me - although I love them, I don't think that particular one worked for me because I am a short *rse ;-) I will try so eothers though next time I am out and about.
ReplyDeleteOoh are you in Dorset? I've listed all those places to visit as we moved to Tolpuddle in April from Lancashire!
Mr parents live in Dorset so I visit a lot - I'm in Berkshire
