I think that since I turned 40 (last September) I have finally become very happy with myself. I couldn't wait to turn 40 and I have not been disappointed at all by the year I've had.
In terms of fashion/style I am very comfortable and have finally learnt what looks good, how to dress for my shape and how to make my wardrobe work for me without buying lots of new things. I am currently on month 6 of not buying anything (ignore the tshirt, the 2 tops, the jumper and the 2 pairs of shorts I bought recently in Tesco (total spend £50).
Here are some of my favourite outfits from the past month. Since I started working in an office with other women I've made more of an effort in what I wear. The other office I work in is full of developers ... 'nuff said.

Do you feel good about yourself? It's not about being big headed, it's about being confident and accepting of what you have - there is a difference!

Great outfits Fiona and goes to show you must of had a big wardrobe to start with. Think I might have to take up a similar challenge next year! x
ReplyDeleteLOL 'next year'!!
DeleteI think I have, if I got it all out and hung it up, 3-4 double wardrobes (excluding shoes). That's a lot isn't it?!
Fiona I've just read your comment about 3-4 double wardrobes...dare I ask if that's single or double hanging?!!!

LOL! Double for one and single for the other 3 :-)!
DeleteYou always look fab, Fiona, but I agree that it's about how you feel. I'm 40 early next year so the countdown is on for me now... Wish me luck! Lynne xx
ReplyDeleteLots of luck! It's the best year of your life - EVER!
DeleteI finally found my style that I am happy with hitting 40 too! you always look great, I forgot you were on a 6 mth spending ban....... how on earth have you managed but then I remember that post was it 37 pairs of jeans??? xx
ReplyDelete34 I think! I do have too many clothes - all cheap crap but because I have so much it stays in pristine condition!!!!!
DeleteWow! That's a lot of wardrobes, I have two double ones, one has coats and uniform in though. I love being in my 40's and I'm less than 2 Years off 50, which I intend to embrace, time with hubby is high on the agenda now the kids are older x
ReplyDeleteCompletely agree! I think once we hit our 40s, it's all about knowing your shape, knowing what suits and that in turn means that you are confident in how you wear clothes. Age really can bring some wisdom it seems!!
ReplyDeleteI'm more comfortable with myself now than I've ever been! I loved hitting 30 but 40 was really something else! Ax
