Lulu Winter Jewellery - A Review

I was very pleased to be asked last week if I would like to review a piece of jewellery from Lulu Winter. I love bracelets and necklaces (never wear earrings, I have funny holes in my ears). I was like a kid in a sweetie shop but I wanted to review something I knew I would wear again and/or my friends would wear too.

Lulu Winter: a premium online jewellery boutique, dedicated to bringing you the most exciting designer jewellery brands around. It was set up in 2011.

I chose a piece from the Kleshna range. It arrived in a cute pocket purse and wrapped in tissue paper.

My two boys LOVED it and declared it 'beautiful'. I agree, it's very cute.  What I love most is you can twist it around so the coloured hearts match the outfit you are wearing - brilliant!

Kleshna Rainbow Candy Heart Bracelet - £30 - Mouthwatering Candy Hearts bracelet from the Kleshna collection. Features an array of twinkling Swarovski crystal hearts in all the colours of the rainbow, set against glossy rhodium-plated silver beads for contrast and shine. Elasticated fit - one size fits all.

What do you think? It's super comfortable to wear and totally cute. I'm in love with it! It also reminds me of those sweet bracelets I used to have as a child, apart from on this occasion, I'd best not try to eat it!

Spotty Shirts

Inspired by this gorgeous look over on Avenue 57 yesterday ...

... I decided to check out some spotty shirts! I bought one from Tesco recently, loved it but then decided I didn't need it so returned it. I did take a photograph to show and tell but then accidentally deleted it - d'oh! I guess that's a good thing in hindsight because I'm offskie to buy the Matalan one on Friday!

Pinterest Interest

Matalan - £12

Tesco - £16 - black, white or blue

River Island - £35

River Island - £18

New Look - £17.99

Next - £38

ASOS American Apparel Polka Dot Blouse - £56

Wallis - £33

Here I am today, inspired by short denim yesterday I dug my denim mini skirt out. I've never worn with ankle boots before - I think I like! (I have no idea why my photos are so grainy, sorry!)

I'll do some show and telling on Friday with the Matalan and Next one if my local store has them in stock.

I am amazed at how many are on the market - I didn't even search hard for them either!

Do you own a polka dot shirt?

Denim shorts for a 40 yr old ...

I don't normally question what I wear and how old I am but today I am. Can a 40 year old wear denim cut off shorts?

I LOVE the look of them ...

This is as good as it got last summer with my home made ones but they look just that - HOME MADE! I am not happy!

Here is my pick of the best online buys available today. I'll order some and do a little show and tell with a fingers crossed this show and tell is better than my previous fails!

Next - £20

Matalan - £14

Topshop - £32
River Island - £25

No blog post of mine is ever complete without a mention of my two favourite online stores - Mango and ASOS!

Mango - £24.99

ASOS - £24

Now on to keeping my legs brown and fuzz free, this is the part of Summer I HATE! I also need saggy skin knee lift surgery - I'm sure I can't be the only one who has TERRIBLE knees?!

Will you be wearing denim cut offs soon? Tell me, what do you wear on your feet? In my show and tell I'll try and work trainers, flip flops, heels (YIKES) etc etc

Another day another disaster

Honestly, I have no idea what is wrong with me at the moment. Over the past month I have ordered/tried on LOTS of clothes from Boden, Tesco, TK Maxx and ASOS and out of EVERYTHING I have tried on (retail total around £1500) I have kept one blue top from Tesco for the grand sum of ....................... £8! I can be seen wearing it here and again today at the end of this post.

WARNING WARNING WARNING - this post is VERY LONG WITH LOTS OF EPIC FAILURE Photo's.

I forgot to blog about the other Tesco stuff and accidentally deleted all the photographs too which is VERY annoying. You've all seen the Boden and TK Maxx shopping failures so today I bring you the ASOS fails.

I love these shoes, they were just about perfect and I THOUGHT my search for cobalt blue shoes had come to an end but .......... they are sandals,  not shoes! I figure the strap would bother me with jeans/trousers and so if I have any doubt these days I just return.

You can see the heel here - gorgeous aren't they but they are sandals not shoes!

Now let's talk about this stunning dress - I LOVED it - think bright lime green and blue - love love love BUT .... without boobs it just gaped and opened at the wrong place. I'm gutted because it's an amazing fit and it even had little pockets which I just love.  It also looks VERY different on me on the top half than on the model on their site - I prefer their look!

You can see the naughty flappy gaping bit better here

And closer up here - it's just not something I could live with

This photo makes it look like the top half the dress is wearing me, not the other way round ... oh God, the more I look at these photos the more I'm glad it's not right ... I've gone from love to hate in 45 seconds!

This has the potential to be an amazing dress for a night out. Gorgeous quality and such pretty detail to the top half. Swinging girlie bottom bit, right length (not too short, not too long, flash a bit of thigh etc) and overall a fab dress for £37.50. You know there is a but coming don't you?

It sat all matronly on my none existent boobs .. do you see it? It was so hard to photograph but trust me, I called myself shelf tits after this!

Can you see it better here?

Thin legs are us yes?

 Pretty neck though

And then onto the tartan drop hem dress that I had seen on Frances and Joanna and I wanted so badly.
The pictures speak for themselves. You know what I did - RETURN! Excuse the 7.30am photobomber. Check me out trying clothes on so early!

I see BIG dress and LITTLE pin head - do you?!

I later got a call from Millets, they wanted their tent back

And this was just so boring that it went back in the bag!

Onto what I wore today for a lunch with the girls at the pub. The £8 Tesco top, Gap jeans and TK Maxx nude heels

Jacket from Matalan last summer that I've never worn .. until now!

Do you think I should turn this blog into the real anti fashion blog it's fast becoming?!

Have a good weekend

How to jazz up an outfit

I always believe a necklace or scarf and a pair of heels can jazz up ANY outfit and today I am showing you exactly that.

Here is a typical 'mum' school run outfit. Jeans, tshirt, jumper and ballet pumps.

Long sleeved tshirt - Sainsbury's
Striped jumper - New Look (ancient)
Jeans - Gap (ancient)
Shoes - Clarks (ancient)
Necklace - Avenue 57

Just by adding a statement necklace you can make it look more interesting

Turn your jeans up to add another look - I'm favouring BIG turn ups right now

Finally, the good old 'add a pair of heels' to make it from drab to fab - I'm loving this! I wont' lie to you, I've not put the heels on for the school run - I wore the ballet pumps.

Do you love necklaces? Heels? Do you often take an average outfit and jazz it up?

Mixing Patterns

On Facebook last night Avril asked me if I'd ever worn stripes and flowers together but it couldn't be a selfie photo as evidence (epic fail then, all my photos are selfies). I have worn in the past this pattern mash up and so I was inspired to put it together again for today.

I randomly cut my fringe this morning as it was too long. I hate it! The husband hates it too! So I have it as it was, ruffled down and my usual clipped up messy 'do'. What do you think? WEIRD right?!

Skirt is from Whistle & Wolf - £50

Top is H&M but I have similar in my shop with cute coloured cuffs
Shoe Boots - Clarks (ancient)
Necklace- the shop

Leading me nicely on to shoe boots/Shoots whatever you like to call them. I absolutely love them. They're more casual that a court shoe and not as 'heavy' as an ankle boot.

Here are my top 3 finds for shoe boots on the market today:

Marks and Spencer Shoe Boot - £19 (currently in the sale)

Marks and Spencer Suede Shoe Boot - £35 (currently in the sale)

Aldo via House of Fraser - £75

So go on then, what about the hair? Up or down? To fringe or not to fringe?
