WARNING WARNING WARNING - this post is VERY LONG WITH LOTS OF EPIC FAILURE Photo's.
I forgot to blog about the other Tesco stuff and accidentally deleted all the photographs too which is VERY annoying. You've all seen the Boden and TK Maxx shopping failures so today I bring you the ASOS fails.
I love these shoes, they were just about perfect and I THOUGHT my search for cobalt blue shoes had come to an end but .......... they are sandals, not shoes! I figure the strap would bother me with jeans/trousers and so if I have any doubt these days I just return.
You can see the naughty flappy gaping bit better here
And closer up here - it's just not something I could live with
This photo makes it look like the top half the dress is wearing me, not the other way round ... oh God, the more I look at these photos the more I'm glad it's not right ... I've gone from love to hate in 45 seconds!
This has the potential to be an amazing dress for a night out. Gorgeous quality and such pretty detail to the top half. Swinging girlie bottom bit, right length (not too short, not too long, flash a bit of thigh etc) and overall a fab dress for £37.50. You know there is a but coming don't you?
It sat all matronly on my none existent boobs .. do you see it? It was so hard to photograph but trust me, I called myself shelf tits after this!
Can you see it better here?
Thin legs are us yes?
Pretty neck though
The pictures speak for themselves. You know what I did - RETURN! Excuse the 7.30am photobomber. Check me out trying clothes on so early!
I later got a call from Millets, they wanted their tent back
Jacket from Matalan last summer that I've never worn .. until now!
Do you think I should turn this blog into the real anti fashion blog it's fast becoming?!
Have a good weekend
Fiona
xoxo
Oh Fiona, I'm so sorry nothing was right for you, but you do make me laugh!! You look AMAZING though in your jeans and Tesco top ie your own clothes. You don't need any more! Love Liz xxx
ReplyDeleteYou sound like my husband and mum!!!!!!
DeleteI always need new clothes!
You should of kept the sandals regardless, it will be summer one day! Same about the lime and cobalt dress it's really lovely. x
ReplyDeleteIf I had a spare £50 I would have kept them - they were gorgeous I have to say
DeleteI do love the cobalt sandals. Such a shame as I know you really wanted shoes. The tartan dress is hysterical, man alive!!
ReplyDeleteIt was a size 6 too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DeleteI think I like seeing photos of what doesn't work even more than photos of what does, I hope that doesn't make me a bad person?! I tried on some shockers recently, I'll have to start posting them to give everyone a laugh. I bought about 10 tops from Primark too, and returned 6 of them. Sometimes it's not your season!
ReplyDeleteHow bloody annoying about that first dress, you look stunning in it, but weird flappy bit would not do. And those sandals, are just gorgeous, gorgeous. But yes, they are...sandals. Not shoes!
Keep on trying!
x
I love epic fails more than the success posts!!!!! It makes us 'real' and human and not everything looks good. I'm man enough to show and tell the rough with the smooth!
DeleteThe blue sandals are just gorgeous & will be perfect for the summer!! Your post did make me laugh 'tho, at least your honest!!
ReplyDeleteOn the upside your lunch outfit is spot on...the jacket is fab!! x
Honest always :-)
DeleteThe jacket annoyed me though - it has a rough bit of fabric all round the inner collar - I was itching and scratching all lunch!
Do you know what, I rather liked the little ditsy flower dress with the black tights....think I would have added a biker jacket to it and a pair of boots and it would look great. Loving the blue shoes though, those ankle straps are amazing.
ReplyDeleteI liked it - I could have done a lot with it but ............ I already own a few like that that I never do anything with - I need to work with what I have now instead of buying new all time
DeleteFiona
I do think you should have kept the sandals as they would be great in just a month or two with boyfriend jeans. Love the heel!! The rest were all good calls - it's the downside of online shopping...I hate having to return it all :(
ReplyDeleteGreat outfit today - can't believe you've not worn that jacket since last year?! x
I need to find £50 for the sandals - I can't justify those and the blue shoes I'm still hunting for.
DeleteI've never worn the jacket! I just bought it last year!
Oh you have made me laugh if anything here Fiona, I loved that red check Asos dress also and I have it saved in my wish basket - do you think it would work if you sized down maybe 2 or 3 sizes even???
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I can downsize .. it's a size 6!
DeleteI love your honesty - at least you post the pictures. I usually just quietly take off the offending items and fold neatly and put them back in the bag (yes, I am that anal). And then pull them back out and try them again and fold them up and put them back. And repeat till absolutely certain.
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree with Porcelina - I like seeing the rejects more than the successes. Sorry :o) It's only because I'm just as bad.
I shall aim to to more failures - there will be plenty I promise you!
DeleteFiona those shoes are gorgeous, you should of definitely have kept those babies!! I think you did the right thing returning everything else & just think when you do find some clothes you love, after all these returns your halo is shining brightly!!
ReplyDeleteLove your outfit from today.
Jane xx
My Midlife Fashion
I'm shopping in Bristol on Monday with Michelle - I WILL buy blue shoes - I will I will I will!
DeleteI honestly have times like this, nothing fits, nothing inspires me, I have a few pennies to spend, it's just not happening. Then normally once I find something it starts the ball rolling and rolling and rolling. Currently I have had that (well since the beginning of the year) and am now trying to be good and not look about. You will come good again, it's a short drought! x
ReplyDeleteI don't want the ball to start rolling - I am quite enjoying having to have NO self control. I don't need any because everything looks shite!
DeleteYou're brilliant! You really are! And you're funny ... and you have amazing legs ... and you make us laugh ... and your final outfit was so, so perfect - so well done you!!! Loved this post - still laughing (my favourite is the black 'boob shelf' dress LOL!!!)
ReplyDeleteHonestly it was so bad, I took 9 photos but NOT ONE showed exactly what I saw!!!
Deletereally made me laugh, it saves checking out the retail website, where everything is pinned and airbrushed to perfection. It's all those little details that go wrong when the retailers are chasing profit and not offering value for money, I guess it is how ZARA just takes over. I have never had a good experience with ASOS, and the disappointment is all the greater and they manage to make their stuff look quite nice in pictures, but I just have to face it that I am too old and need to pay a bit more!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love ASOS though - always have. I just think I keep ordering the wrong things!!
DeleteI still LOVE the check dress on you - and wtf with the sandals - you would have worn them - they'd be perfect with BF jeans or crops!!! LOVE the new blog look and feel - very elegant:)
ReplyDeleteI just can't justify them on top of wanting actual shoes
DeleteLove this post- think you need to do nothing but fashion fails from now on and show us what not to buy! Love the blue shoes also, they are very like the Zara ones I have that are very comfy because of the block heel. Your last outfit is stunning though, can't believe that top is tesco it's gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteFashion Fails - LOVE IT! Should check the domain name!
DeleteLove the lunch outfit.....that is perfection! Such a shame about the blue shoes! Like the lime dress but if it ain't comfy, don't go there!! The black and check dress just have no shape for you and you should be showing yours off!! You do make me laugh.....you put the fun in to fashion!! xx
ReplyDeleteYou look great in your lunch outfit! I really need to go for a major try on session to make sure I invest well this Spring on stuff that I will actually wear! Ax
ReplyDeleteI saw these an thought of you? :) http://www.shoeaholics.com/calista-blue-suede-36-kg-kurt-geiger-ladies-shoe.html
