Denim boilersuits for women

Yesterday I was all inspired by Kate Moss and how good she looked in a grey denim jumpsuit. I blogged about it here. So I quickly went online via ASOS to order all that I could. I placed my order at 3pm and it arrived at noon today (Sunday). Now that's what I call good service!

I ordered:
  1. ASOS Soft Denim Jumpsuit with Utility Styling - Blue / UK 10 - £50
  2. Daisy Street Denim Boilersuit - Blue / M - £34.99
  3. Pull&Bear Denim Boiler Suit - Blue / S - £40

First show and tell on me: ASOS Soft Denim Jumpsuit with Utility Styling - Blue / UK 10 - £50
It's more of a soft corduary than denim. It felt too big but I think that's the style.
Verdict: Return (only because I don't think I'm a plumber  boilersuit kind of girl.

Second show and tell: Daisy Street Denim Boilersuit - Blue / M - £34.99
I had high hopes for this at it was a soft light denim and I loved the colour but it was WAY too small. I had to take 10000 photographs to hide the camel toe - no matter what angle I stood at it looked like I was hiding a couple of willies down there! Don't even talk to me about the fat ass - how unflattering is this style?!
Verdict: Return

Third & final (and losing the will to live at this point): Pull&Bear Denim Boiler Suit - Blue / S - £40
This one is heavy proper denim so it fits really nicely but again, it's too small in body length for me. . I loved the heavier more structured feel to it and I think this could be a winner in a slightly bigger size. HOWEVER .... feeling confident that I might just be able to pull it off I went downstairs to show my family. Their reactions:
James - laughed so hard I thought he was doing to die
Alex (10) - thought a denim onesie was weird
Oliver (7) - thought my onesie was cool
Verdict: Return

I feel sad that this last one got THAT reaction .. what do you think? BE HONEST. I can take it :-)!

  1. I really like the last one for what it's worth. Have you tried it with trainers or flats? I often have items no one in my family gets but it depends on how much I love it as to whether I keep it or not. x

    1. I think I'm trying to force a round peg in a square hole .. I do like it but it's just not me and where I live/where I go out!

  2. I love that the kids call it a Onesie, but it is a shame no-one liked it, why don't you try the next size just out of interest.

  3. I think you should continue your search for one that's long enough in the body because there's no doubt that you suit the style Fiona. Actually love the first one on you. I thought you had a fag hanging out of your mouth in the second set, far right photo. Have a look, it's hilarious x

  4. I think the Pull & Bear one is the best of the bunch shape-wise. Speaking from experience I think they are a tricky item to pull off as although I had a great reaction to the Primark one I bought last Summer, I never did feel 100% confident in it xx

    1. If I'd paid Primark prices I would mind so much but £40 is £40 and I can get something I do feel comfortable in for that.

  5. I quite like the first one & that would be the style I would probably go for! Your figure looks amazing in the last one so why not size up & see how you go? x

    1. Thanks Irina - I think I'd like to find something like this but not denim.

  7. To be honest (well there's a surprise!) I'm not convinced on the whole denim boilersuit look. It's just a mere step up from dungarees :( However you do have a gorgeous figure and amazing legs and I think the one that flatters you best is the first one.
(Donna is right about the fag picture by the way! LOL!!)

    1. I am really conscious that it does look a bit like the dungarees which I can't get my round.
      Fag was not in mouth!!!!!!!

  8. You know my thoughts - I really like the last one on you. Personally, it's not a look for me, but you have the most amazing figure, Fiona. You can definitely get away with it. My hubby often laughs at my fashion choices though. What do they know? Lynne xx

    1. Men don't know much often when it comes to clothes! I can't do it though. The thought of wearing a denim onesie outside is making me cringe!

  9. I'm sitting here scratching my head. You have an almost perfect clothes horse body, so if it's not working on you, who COULD wear any of these? Definitely not me, I would look like an extra from prisoner Cell Block H. But you are petite, fine boned and delicate. I was looking at the Kate Moss is very one, I think it is that silk mix denim that is more silk than cotton, it flows and is less rigid in its fit, and the tied ankles are quite a flattering way of feminising what is really a workers boiler suit!!

    1. You are too kind. I cannot wear everything and anything - I wish I could!
LOL at the Prisoner extra (that's what my best friend said about herself)!!!!!
