Yesterday I had some time on my hands so I went through all the blogs I follow and read them all - it took a long time! I absolutely love Marlene from Chocolate Cookies & Candies - she OOZES style and her photography is award winning. Yesterday she posted a rare photo of her street style but she should post more because she is so freaking cool!
I had similar items to the ones she was wearing (mine are cheap high street versions!) but I think I've copied her well enough to be called a sheep but also (as Simon Cowell might say) I've made it my own! I cannot tell you how much I love a good chunky knit but I've never thought about putting a blazer over the top - I think it works?
Here is the ever so cool and stylish Marlene
And here I am with my take on her look
So where can you get a simple but effective cream polo neck jumper? I bring you all that I have found on the internet today:
Marks & Spencer - Cream Cashmere Polo Neck - £75
Woolovers - Cream Chunky Polo Neck - £39
Jigsaw (via John Lewis) - in the sale - £69
Next - £35
BHS - £15
Esprit - £39
Esprit Chunky Knit - £39
Mango - £4.99 (in the sale and only M available but they come up small)
Do you have a cream polo neck? There are SOOOOOO many ways to style one - perhaps in a blog post coming to you soon I shall see how many ways I can wear the simple cream polo neck.

Ooh yes I'd love to see you style the polo in differen ways. I have the Next funnel neck one but in navy. It's a tad itchy so might have to send it back. Love a nice polo but I can't do itchy lol x
ReplyDeleteSend it back - it will always bug you otherwise! I have a navy thin layer polo neck that I've never worn, I'm lost as to how to style it.
DeleteWill do a chunky knit styling post as soon as I can find the time to get everything out and work on!
Yep think you're right I just won't wear it but it is lovely and in the cream too x
DeleteNo cream polo neck here but any kind of chunky jumper is good with me - so snuggly! I do have two fitted Primark knit roll necks that I wear as a layering piece, I've had them for years and they are suprisingly good quality for Primark!
ReplyDeleteI have a few Primark jumpers that have survived for so long - nowt wrong with a bargain jumper!
DeleteFiona, you're a sweetheart. Thank you for the lovely compliment. You've put a big smile on my face. ((hugs))
ReplyDeleteCredit where credit is due - you're the star here!
DeleteI want the cream Woolovers one. I had the grey version with me just before Christmas but I had to send it back as I couldn't justify yet another grey jumper. But a cream one? That's different!
ReplyDeleteI've only just heard of Woolovers - are they new or am I behind the times AGAIN?
DeleteI have one very similar to that from H&M so I've got my eye on the Esprit one!
Grey is very different to cream - you know you want it (little voice in your head is saying 'buy me buy me buy me'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm searching for a cream chunky knit. Not a polo ... can feel the itch already ... but something big and chunky and cosy and warm ... so if you find one on your travels, please let me know! I really like your look - it has a touch of Charlie's Angels about it x
ReplyDeleteWhat about this one?

Do you know, I haven't worn a polo neck in years as they just started to feel uncomfortable around the neck if you know what I mean?! I really need to give them ago again, I think I just also OD'ed on them in my teens enough to dislike them on me now. On my 'to try again' list now, thank you Fiona. x
ReplyDeleteI have a long neck that is always cold, I think that's why if I don't have a polo neck on I'm wearing a scarf!!!
DeleteYou'd look amazing in one (you would in a sack!)
You look ace in a roll neck but I just can't make them work for me :0(
ReplyDeleteNow a cowl neck I can do and I love the Espirt one.....which in fact reminds me I have something very similar from Topshop! Don't be surprised if you see me sporting it in the next few days ;0) x
You look great, love the cream polo neck, I need one need I've seen yours :)
