Jumper dresses

This is the perfect time of year to put on your jumper dresses. Dress them up with heels as I have done or dress them down with trainers and/or boots.

I have seen these kind of dresses worn with denim shirts underneath but when I tried that look earlier it looked too bulky and weird. My solution to this problem is a faux shirt collar.

I have been assured by all the ladies on the Avenue 57 Facebook group that they work a treat, they do not pop out from under your jumper or dress and they are the accessory to have this season (who am I to argue with the experts)!

Back to the jumper dress. I forget about mine, I don't know why and yet when I wear it I get lots of lovely compliments and I feel really good in it! MUST BUY MORE and wear!

Here are some bargain dresses/jumper dresses from online today

House of Fraser Pied A Terre Jumper Dress was £89 now £44

I've set myself a little challenge. I am going to wear EVERYTHING I own before I buy ANYTHING new .. I have a lot of clothes and it's time to start wearing them all. I'm also starting to keep work clothes for work and dress down casual for home. So far this week I've worn 2 dresses and it's a lovely moment when I fling off the dress and wear my faux gym gear when I get home!

Do you own a jumper dress? When was the last time you wore yours? What about the bib? Good idea?

Fiona

  1. I didn't know that you could get the bib collars in River Island - now I'm interested!! I have seen them in Cos, but they were too expensive for something that I probably won't wear much. Love your knit dress ... but then you have the required beautiful figure to wear something that unforgiving x

    1. I laughed at them at first but I can actually see why you would buy one - I love the idea of the denim one under a dress or jumper. Putting a shirt underneath just adds unnecessary bulk.
This dress is not as fitted as it looks - it's hiding a lot!

    1. I agree it does. My concern with some of them are just how short they are!

  3. I have a white one and wear it with a thermal top under my jumpers. There's no way I could do a thermal top and a shirt without resembling a sumo wrestler so they work for me. Love love love the denim collar but I can't buy it can I as I'm on a spending ban. Adore your outfit x

  5. I really want to try these, but I like collar and cuffs (fnar fnar). I wear my denim shirt with my Boden drop waist dress, but it's a looser style so maybe that's why it doesn't look too bulky. I love yours, but I have too much natural bulk just now to wear one that fitted!

    1. All Saints I ADORE but sadly don't have the budget. If I did then I'm sure 75% of my wardrobe would be from there!

  9. That's a great challenge - you might not buy anything for months & months! Will you document / keep us updated here on wearing everything you own?

I have some lovely casual dresses but I'm still feeding Felix. I go back to work in April so I won't be doing daytime feeds = dresses! Hurrah :)

  10. I LOVE jumper dresses! Warm and comfortable through the winter and not slobby!! They can also be very flattering. I buy a few new additions each year. This autumn was from TXmaxx at £16 each. I wear them with a M&S heatgen vest or top (underneath) and high heeled boots or low heeled boots depending on how much walking I have to do!!!!
