I went to the hairdressers yesterday to get my children's hair cut before they went back to school. I was idly flicking through a copy of Grazia and eye spied the most heavenly shoes EVER.
I tried to find them on the Guess website but I couldn't. I did, however, totally fall in love with these beauties from Guess but at £190 they will remain in the possession of Guess and not me.
Fast forward to my next errand of the day - feeding the boys and afterwards I got sucked into Next which is a shop I never go into - I have no rhyme or reason as to why I don't - but what on earth have I been missing out on? SO SO SO many gorgeous things I wanted/need/don't want/don't need - I couldn't believe it. The boys were nagging me, time was short but whilst there I did spot these amazing metal ankle strap shoes and herein lies the crux of my blog post - bondage shoes/fettish shoes - are they 'in' right now or what? I know they aren't a patch on the Guess ones but at £30 v's £190 I'll live with that.
So, the trend of leather/metal and an ankle strap high heel - I have to say I'm in love and seriously am going to buy and try those next ones.
Where else is doing a superb ankle strap heeled sandal right now? (this blog post was starting out as a porn lead tribute but the reality is that ankle strap high heeled shoes are absolutely everywhere right now and not all as dominatrix lead as the Guess ones!)
Zara - £29.99 (what a price! And very similar to the Guess ones)
ASOS - £45
My favourite are the more delicate subtle ankle strap shoes and I think I shall be taking myself off to the Next website to have a closer look (that's TWICE this week I've been amazed at Next and what they have to offer - first the tie dye jeans and now the porn shoes!).
Dazzle me and wow me with your tales of 'I have 8 pairs already and if you do please show and tell on Avenue 57 - you don't just have to post a picture of what you're wearing, we like to look at shoes/bags/jewellery too!

Hi there-those Kurt Geiger ones are my favourite here, they really are lovely picks too! Thanks for the googling tips too, hehe!!
ReplyDeleteThey'd be a bit too heavy for my sparrow legs which is why I favour the more flimsy ankle straps from Zara and Mango - I am keen to try them though - they OOZE quality to me!
DeleteLovely selection of shoes Fiona. This style is perfect for me as the strap keeps the shoe on my foot as opposed to my heel slipping every time I walk. You probably won't be surprised to hear that the first shoes from Guess are my favourite!!! x
ReplyDeleteI have terrible problems with mules/shoes slipping off and don't talk to me about a slingback - I can't wear them at all.
DeleteI love the guess ones too - but at that price?
You def need sparrow legs and teeny tiny ankles for these AND perfect feet! I fall at several of those hurdles!!
ReplyDeleteLOL one day I will see you post on Avenue 57 so I can see these issues of yours which are probably not there!
DeleteLOVE them - I actually just bough these from DSW last week - can't wait to wear them with my dungarees:))) http://www.dsw.com/shoe/levity+nancy+pump?prodId=266336&productRef=SEARCH
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness they are amazing AND they shop internationally - SQUEAL!
DeleteThe £75 Mango ones are my favourites. The Zara look very uncomfortable and I know they are because they have done this style for two seasons and I once tried them on and couldn't walk in them!
ReplyDeleteOh interesting you've tried them - don't look very well supported at all!
DeleteI am still lusting after the Next ones
I loooove the look of ankle straps but I just can't wear them, I find them so uncomfortable and can't walk properly booo x
ReplyDeleteI haven't yet tried them - I do have some gorgeous orange LK Bennett ones that do dig in a bit thinking about it - must wear again to 'see'. I will go and try the Next ones to see if this happens as I do know what you mean
DeleteAdore the Guess ones .. love the Next ones! (Isn't Next really great at the moment?) I actually found a pair of grey ankle strap sandals from Clarks that I'd forgotten I bought in Kildare Village (our version of Bicester) two years ago. (worth clearing out the wardrobe!) And yay! looks like they're bang on trend this year. LOVED the title of this post btw, lol:)
ReplyDeleteNext is amazing - I am totally bowled over by them since my love for Zara has dwindled.
DeleteOooh would love to 'see' your shoes if and when you have time to show and tell
